surf in a certain direction applying asymmetrical design can unpack that better, but further more, also addressing which way you stand on that wave will get you even further. It’s less of a half step then another, but a manipulation of various elements to more brave degrees than others, for ease and flow/cause and effect as desired by design.Read More

His foot prints were still flooded leaving puddles as he made his way back up the path. The grin made his piercing eyes more defined and he looked right at me and simply said: "You just don't have to do that much to feel good"
It was the true test. A fundamentally sound technical surfer who could envision good lines on a wave, had zero preconceived references for asymmetry and an eager fascination to see the concepts benefit. Presenting Jonah Carter.
Going back to past concepts of similar value and discussing the current landscape and design, together with Corban Campbell we had a conversation of comfort, confidence and the understanding of these elements. One thought is how to explain them, the more dominant thought is how will they be perceived. Committing to helpful design that promotes good surfing through a range of conditions with a technically sound fundamental approach was the bar.
Here is the Happy Detective model some 4 years back now shown in the tube and on the rail with memories of such rides still alive today
Regular Foot (Left foot forward) Asymmetric
This board has a performance concept in mind with asymmetrical advantages incorporated to extend opportunities with similar lines in challenging conditions and smaller surf. It’s medium volume low twisted rocker and single into slight double concave through the toe side fin rounding out with soft down rails, fuller on the heel side that breaks in a mellow hip and runs into the short length diamond tail. The toe side is a continuous curve that balances loaded sectional transitions from both the front and back foot's pressures. Ride as a twin on the toe and a quad on the heel, or a matched thruster all around. A close step from a performance board with long yards of advantage.
